Personal Care Assistance

Personal Care Assistants (PCA) provide assistance and care to individuals with special needs including developmental disabilities, chronic health problems or mental health diagnoses. The services that a PCA provides may enable the individual to remain at home rather than in a group home or other environment.

Our program carefully matches each client with a trained PCA. Types of assistance provided by a PCA will vary based on individual need, but may include daily living and health-related tasks, supervision for health and safety, behavior redirection/intervention and assistance with participating in home and community settings.

PCA Choice

In addition to our traditional PCA program, we offer a "PCA Choice" option for individuals or families who wish to choose their own PCA. Under this service option, the client or family is responsible for interviewing, hiring, training and supervising any staff. The individual or client enters into a written agreement with St. David's Center for billing and payroll services.

Payment/Funding

We accept Medical Assistance (MA), TEFRA, UCare,  Metropolitan Health Plan, HealthPartners and private pay.
